The 3rd DigiTwins4PEDs Consortium Meeting was successfully held in Wrocław!

Between 22 and 24 September 2025, partners of the DigiTwins4PEDs project gathered for another in-person consortium meeting in Wrocław, Poland. The event was kindly hosted by our Polish partners at the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr), Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics. We were delighted that so many members of the consortium could join in person and contribute to the discussions.

The meeting began with an overview of the project’s current status, followed by sessions covering all major Work Packages, with a strong focus on:

  • Urban Digital Twin development – strategies and updates from the case studies,
  • Urban Living Labs and stakeholder engagement – methods for involving citizens and stakeholders,
  • Energy flexibilisation scenarios – innovative approaches to energy demand management.

Beyond the technical sessions, the consortium also had the chance to explore Wrocław, including a special visit to the City Hall. Thanks to the SmartCity team of the municipality, participants could enjoy a series of insightful presentations showcasing the city’s innovative approaches to digitalisation and citizen engagement.

A highlight of the meeting was the signing of a Letter of Intent between UPWr and HFT Stuttgart, further strengthening academic collaboration. The DigiTwins4PEDs project is not only about technical work – it also strengthens collaboration and fosters closer relations between universities, cities and idustry. The document was signed by Prof. Volker Coors, Vice-Rector at HFT Stuttgart, and Prof. Szymon Szewrański, Vice-Rector for External Affairs at UPWr, in the presence of a representative of infoSolutions, the industrial partner in the consortium – a certificate of long-term, fruitful cooperation and years of successful collaboration. Congratulations!

We are pleased to announce that the final in-person project meeting will take place in Stuttgart in February 2026 – a valuable opportunity to bring this inspiring Consortium together once more.
